The Alaska Jewish Historical Museum and Cultural Center is a beneficiary of the annual Jewish Cultural Gala. The Jewish Cultural Gala benefits the Esformes Campus of Jewish Culture in Alaska which houses in separate facilities and parcels the Alaska Jewish Historical Museum and Cultural Center, the David and Ruth Green Lubavitch Jewish Center and the Gan Yeladim Early Learning Center.
Since 2004, a fundraising committee has organized seven annual Jewish Cultural Galas and Auctions to support the Campus of Jewish Culture in Alaska, which includes the Alaska Jewish Historical Museum and Cultural Center, the David and Ruth Green Lubavitch Jewish Center and the Gan Yeladim Early Learning Center.
The annual Jewish Cultural Gala has been an amazing success every year, speaking of family, unity and bringing together the Alaskan community in the most memorial way. Guests dance to the live music of the renowned Krohn Brothers Orchestra all the way from New York City, savoring a tantalizing array of the finest Jewish entrees, and joining in the bidding frenzy of an auction filled with many wonderful and unique items.
This year’s eighth annual Jewish Cultural Gala 2011 was held at the Hotel Captain Cook and The Jewish Contribution to the Shaping of Alaska’s Constitution, Statehood and Civic & Economic Development honoring Victor Fischer and Patricia Wolf for outstanding leadership in the shaping of the Last Frontier.
It is has been nine years since our fellow Alaskans and out of town friends first joined together to help us make this dream come true. Our generous and kind donors should take pride and share in this great achievement. It is only thanks to them that we are able to purchase and maintain this beautiful and spacious campus. Their generosity has made a difference in the lives of Alaskans for generations to come.
